PayPal X Innovate 2010 & Open API Economy: an exciting week

Just a quick post…as i sit in the airport awaiting departure.  This promises to be quite an interesting week.  I am flying to San Francisco today for a series of events that I find rather compelling.

The week begins with the PayPal X Innovate event.  Personally, the event is compelling as PayPal is one of the few organizations that recognizes the power and importance of APIs for commerce.  In particular, I am looking forward to the Federated Identity sessions as well as listening to their marketing organization discuss branding & promotion guidelines for the Software Community.

Following the event, there is a meetup, entitled Open API Economy Meetup, that is sponsored by Apigee.  I have always been impressed with what Apigee is doing and, from what I have heard, the meetup has fostered compelling discussion each time it is held.  This time around I am honoured to have been asked to speak and am working on a presentation entitled Medieval Art, Collective Intelligence, and Language Abuse. As per usual, I will post the slides on the blog following the event.

If there is anything you are particularly interested in hearing about from either event, please feel free to contact me and I will be happy to oblige.
